The Cipher X 850 family of
low-speed (synchronous: to 64kbps / asynchronous: to 9.6kbps) data security products is available in a
number of configurations. These configurations include a protocol transparent (bulk) data encryptor
(Cipher X 850H-PT™), a protocol sensitive X.25 packet encryptor (Cipher X 850H-PS™), and an
RS-232 asynchronous data encryptor (Cipher X 850T™).
The Cipher X 850H-PS and Cipher X 850H-PT both provide full duplex data encryption using hardware-based, proprietary Hypercrypt™ encryption engines. The Cipher X 850T asynchronous product uses proprietary, processor-executed TEAL™ encryption engines. All configurations offer an anti-tamper protected enclosure secured by a Medeco™ physical keylock with a separate Medeco™ keylock supporting protected access to the unit's front panel mode settings and menu configurable controls.
All products in the Cipher X 850 family offer automated key management providing strategic level data protection. Applications include low-speed HF (and VHF) data networks, command and control sensor data links, and modem-based telephone line data exchanges.
A '2U' (3.5") 19" rack mount is also available that supports the Cipher X 850 unit and its associated external power supply.
