Announces an Award for a Secure
Communications System Expansion
CONCORD, MA, August 13, 2008 - Technical Communications Corporation (OTC BB: TCCO.OB) today announced that it has received an order for another major expansion of a South American government’s secure communications system. The order, valued at $600,000, will provide and deploy TCC’s CSD-3324SE Secure Telephone, Fax and Data desktop system and DSP-9000RA (Radio Airborne) system to the government’s critical communications locations. This deployment, which is expected to ship this fiscal year, will increase the government’s system and continues the network expansion that is progressively linking the mission-critical elements of the government.
TCC’s CSD-3324SE and DSP-9000RA are part of the Company’s Commanders Network family of communication products that are designed to provide fully interoperable, highly secure communications between the telephone system and field radios in the land, air and naval elements of the government. TCC believes the Commanders Network System is well regarded for providing reliable secure communications even in the harshest and most threatening environments.
George Camp, TCC’s Regional Sales Manager for South America said, "Our continued excellent performance with the currently deployed system has once again given the customer confidence in expanding their network and we expect that this expansion will continue for both the field and office agencies. Governments are requiring increased direct communications with field forces for both civilian and military activities. We believe this will continue to drive expansion of our secure communications networks."
The Commanders Network System is used in over thirty countries for high security communications over the existing telephone and radio networks. A principal feature of the system is its scalability as the deployment requirements expand and its capability to operate over weak or marginal network lines.
