Part-Time Mechanical Engineer

Job Opening: Immediate

Technical Communications Corporation, a world-wide leader in the design and manufacturing of secure communications equipment is searching for a Part-Time Mechanical Engineer to contribute to its ongoing product development efforts in Engineering.

Responsibilities include:

  • Design and document mechanical solutions based on proper interpretation of functional and other higher level specifications and interface with other design disciplines.
  • Design and document mechanical solutions for improvements to current products.
  • Develop concepts for review and design all mechanical components required to meet specifications including the necessary documentation (e.g. 2D mechanical component drawings, cable drawings, assembly drawings, Bills of Materials, manufacturing documentation for inspection, test etc.).
  • Develop and maintain 3D models in Solidworks.
  • Convert legacy 2D mechanical drawings to 3D Solidworks models as required.
  • Verify designs via testing or analysis of prototypes as required.
  • Work with outside venders as required to fabricate mechanical parts/prototypes as required.
  • Work with outside test laboratories to plan and execute compliance related testing as required (e.g. MIL-STD-810, Vibration, Thermal, etc.).

The position requires a BSME and extensive experience with developing Industrial and Military enclosures/chassis for networking equipment/systems including sheet metal, castings, and injection molded plastics. This is a role that requires demonstrated capability to self start and self manage as sole mechanical resource at TCC.


Quality Assurance Engineer Level 1

Technical Communications Corporation, a world-wide leader in the design and manufacturing of secure communications equipment, is searching for an Electrical Engineer to assist in their Quality, Manufacturing, and Product Development Teams.

Responsibilities include:

  • Set quality assurance testing models for inspections and analysis of components, materials in process, and finished goods
  • Set up, measure, and evaluate a wide variety of products during verification and validation testing
  • Conduct root-cause analysis of failures found
  • Continuously look for ways to improve existing test methods and processes, as well as devise new test methods and develop written procedures where needed
  • Design and development of tools and fixtures for in-house production & test
  • Model existing and in-development products for reliability, risk, and optimization analysis
  • Assist in the selection, qualification, documentation, and management of electrical components

The position requires a relevant bachelor's degree and 0-4 years of experience in the field of electrical assembly and test. Has knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices and procedures with in the field of electrical circuit board design and assembly. Can create instructions and can use pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job.
